PLAYER DEVELOPMENT STAFF

Our General Manager is Soo Indians Alumni, Ashton Calder. During his time in college he was a WCHA Playoff Champion, NCHC Penrose Champion, and nominated for the Hobey Baker Award. After college, Ashton signed with the Florida Panthers Organization and helped their minor league team win the Kelly Cup Playoffs in 2023. He finished his career by signing with the New York Islanders Organization. 

Head coach for the program is Ken Belanger. The Sault Ste. Marie, ON native brings 10 seasons of NHL experience and over 350 professional hockey games. Following his playing career, Ken began coaching and specializing in off-ice development. He is a major advocate for helping players of all ages in their development by providing resources through his hockey facility called KBX Performance Club.
